ACE's signature toxic tour is a two hour event highlighting
the stories behind nine local sites where youth and residents fought for
environmental justice and won. We cover an overview of EJ, sites like the
"Asbestos Pile" and "Bartlett Bus Depot," and key issues
facing the community today.

The Center for Public Leadership
(CPL) at Harvard Kennedy School (HKS)
has just announced the launch of the Louis M. Bacon Environmental Leadership
Program, a fellowship for emerging leaders in environmental public policy and
practice.
As CPL seeks to recruit our inaugural cohort of five fellows, I am writing to ask for your help getting the word out. We are looking to recruit future leaders in the environmental community who are currently working in NGOs, government, and business to apply to HKS by December 2, 2014. These fellows will come to Harvard and immerse themselves in discussions about environmental challenges; they will learn from Harvard faculty and from each other, and will emerge with new skills and ideas to apply to the world.
The Bacon Fellowship will provide a full tuition scholarship, health insurance, a $10,000 living stipend, and a comprehensive co-curricular program for up to five admitted HKS degree candidates each year. Students from joint-or concurrent-degree programs are encouraged to apply.
To apply for the 2015-2016 academic year, prospective degree candidates will have to complete two steps:

We are accepting applications for our
annual Tropical Marine Ecology course in the Guanacaste region of Costa
Rica and San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua.
This is a 10 day course during which we will be educating students on the various ecosystems in the area including mangrove forests, coral reefs, rocky reefs, and sandy bottom areas. Our own marine biologist, as well as local marine biologists, will be lecturing about these ecosystems, the various animals that live in these unique habitats, and any potential conservation issues that these ecosystems or specific species in the area face. We will then be taking the students into the field to experience these ecosystems and to observe the animals in their natural environment through scuba diving, snorkeling, beach walks, and exploring tidal pools.
This year we are conducting 3 courses to accommodate different winter break schedules, however course #2 is currently full. The dates are below:
Course #1: December 14 - 23, 2014 - spaces available
Course #2: December 26, 2014 - January 4, 2015 - currently full, but please email us to be placed on a waiting list
Course #3: January 6 - 15, 2015 - spaces available
The cost of the trip is $1,699 and includes all lectures and video screenings, 3 days of scuba diving or snorkeling with all rental gear, 9 nights of lodging, all transportation from the time you arriving at the airport in Costa Rica until you depart the airport in Costa Rica, horseback riding, zip-lining, surfing, all breakfast and all dinners.
Not included: airfare to and from Costa Rica as students are flying from all over the US and airfare varies greatly, all lunches, trip insurance, diver insurance, and bring extra money for souvenirs and snacks.

Coastal Marine Education and Research Academy (CMERA) is offering weekly sessions of natural science field research in the beautiful Clearwater, Florida area. Most other research or internship opportunities available to you this summer will require long hours of lab work with little to no field work. We are offering a 100% field research opportunity. Come spend as many weeks as you would like with CMERA this summer and everyday will be spent on a boat in the Gulf of Mexico. As we conduct research on sharks and rays we will be catching and handling wild animals (sharks, stingrays, other fishes, crabs, and many other marine organisms) while learning about their anatomy and ecology. You will also attend lectures on our local ecosystems (sea grass beds, mangrove forests, coral reefs, artificial reefs, sand flats, and estuaries) and the animals that live in each habitat so that you will better recognize each aspect of the ecosystem and the animals as you experience them!! You will also learn about and gain experience in the difficulties of designing and conducting field research, which is especially useful for those of you pursuing a career in research or continuing on to graduate school. The hands-on experience you will gain during this program is applicable to all scientific careers!
There are other opportunities available to you if you want to work in a lab this summer, but we are the only organization that offers 100% field experience!! While lab work is very important in science, we believe that in the natural science disciplines filed work is equally as important. We believe that to truly learn about an organism or an ecosystem you must spend time with it in its natural habitat. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in any discipline of the natural sciences!

Interested in building a new kind of
higher education program? Bard College’s MBA in Sustainability is one of
the few business programs globally that fully integrates the study
of business and sustainability. Our curriculum ensures that students
master the business case for sustainability, understanding how to align profit, environmental,
and social metrics. The curriculum is organized around
weekend-intensive residencies in New York City, supplemented by regular

• Arranging travel and lodging for faculty and guest lecturers
• Booking classroom and event space
• Scheduling and coordinating other program meetings including faculty retreats, curricular design brainstorms, and advisory board meetings

The Public Interest Network, which includes Environment America, PIRG and other groups, is hiring graduating seniors to join our team of 50 campaign organizers.
It’s a two-year program designed to give you a chance to make a difference on some of the most important issues of our time. I started as an organizer with PIRG after graduating from BC in 2013 because I wanted to work towards a better future - my take on men and women for others.
Campaign organizers work together to organize and mobilize citizens to take on global warming, antibiotic overuse, fracking, GMO foods, money in politics, clean water and other issues.
As a campaign organizer, your number one focus is getting people involved. When people get involved, that’s when you see the energy and power it takes to win real change.
